July 2013: Hamatoura

Okay. So, made it back from Lebanon. And, now I'm on the road to Arkansas for the SCCA Summer Nationals. But, of course, I've pulled together a wallpaper for July.

After three trips to Lebanon and driving past this monastery we made it up. I've got pictures from our hike up to the monastery proper—just haven't done my edits yet. But in the meantime, here's a wallpaper with the view from the road.

Usual routine, click the link below and grab a wallpaper size.

View of Hamatoura Monastery is July's wallpaper shot.

June 2013: Purple

You'll never guess who was standing over my shoulder when I was figuring out this month's wallpaper. Okay, you might. She's the reason the door to our house is purple.

The only thing I could weigh in on was which collection it came from. And since we're hitting the road for Lebanon later this month, that's where I was looking.

Which reminds me I need to think about packing.

The usual routine. Hit the image below for a wallpaper sized image and enjoy.

May 2013: Lets Go Back Inside

April was crazy. So, for May's wallpaper, lets go back inside. Find some studio work. You know, for variety.

I had to ransack through some water imagery for a boundary 2 cover we're doing at work. In doing so, I stumbled across a set I shot for Duke a while back.

This reminds me it's been a while since we've blown up the office for an extended studio thing.

It's the usual routine—click the image below to grab a big, wallpaper friendly size for your May 2013 calendaring needs.

Sidenote, it's pretty weird to see that all of Paul's top issues of boundary 2 are ones I've worked on. Including my first. Turns out I've been at it awhile.

Appetite 4 Art: 2013

I've pitched in a couple of pieces for Appetite 4 Art for a lot of years. But this year, I didn't have any framed and things have been busy. I was all set to not donate this year.

Enter the nice folks at Frameworks who stepped up and fit some frames to these two pieces below. These are some of the last silver prints Jennifer produced for me before she hung up her trays.

If you haven't picked up your tickets for Appetite 4 Art this year, you should. It's a great event right in downtown Raleigh. There's great art and food. Plus, all the proceeds go to the Boys & Girls Clubs.

7 Year Itch

I'll go to my first SCCA National Tour of the 2013 season this month. I'm lucky to have two of the best people you could think of as co-drivers. So this month, I decided I'd toss this shot of the car that got me started competing nationally. Sort of ran into this image tucked away in some folder it didn't belong in and it seemed to fit. So here's to another season of doing stupid stuff in cars.

December 2012 Wallpaper

And we'll close out the year with shot from last month. Right here in North Carolina, just down the road from Elk Knob State Park and down by Bridal Cove there's the remains of homestead. And by remains, it's really just three chimneys at this point. This is one of them. In the summer the foliage is so thick you can't really make out much of anything. But come winter, after the leaves fall, it gets more interesting.
