Netherlands Day 5: Maritime and Canal Tours
A “rest” day in Amsterdam with a trip to The National Maritime Museum.. The museum was ridiculously good. A great blend of exhibits, models, and interactive displays. Not to forget, a huge selection of atlases, a scale model of a Dutch East Indies ship, even the building itself.
Those are just the standing exhibits. The limited engagement exhibits included a story of reinvention with the legacy of the MS Oranje to the Sea of Tranquilty—a truly mixed media experience.
We closed that museum and then wandered around that part of Amsterdam for a bit. A quick break at the hotel and we jumped on an evening canal tour.
A good, local day to get rested up for the following day’s adventure.
